Consultations
LOCAL GOVERNMENT CONSULTATIONS – Have your say!
The following public consultations
are currently running. They can be viewed on line and you can give your views.
Cambridgeshire
& Peterborough Local Transport Plan
The
Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority has prepared a draft Local
Transport Plan which they are now consulting upon. The deadline for comments is
Friday 27 September 2019. There are several different ways of providing
feedback to the plan including an online questionnaire. If you wish to find out
more information about the plan there are links to all the relevant documents
and how to comment on the Combined Authority’s website. There is a frequently
asked questions section that provides a good introduction to the plan. Within
our area there is one consultation event that has yet to take place •
Cambridge, Sat 14 Sep, 10am-3pm, Cambridge Central Library, Lion Yard SCDC and
Cambridge City are responding to this consultation.
New Joint
Greater Cambridge Local Plan
Workshops
have been held for different groups including parish councils and residents
associations to start thinking about what the next joint Greater Cambridge
Local Plan will include. For those who were not able to attend these sessions there
is a YouTube video that gives a taster. There will be public consultation on
Issues and Options for the new joint Greater Cambridge Local Plan in the autumn
2019 so there will be an opportunity for everyone who is interested in the
Greater Cambridge area to have their say in shaping the future of this area.
Draft
Greater Cambridge Sustainable Design and Construction (SPD) Proposals
to help make new housing developments as green as possible have been published
by South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridge City Council – and local
people are being encouraged to have their say. The draft guide to sustainable
design and construction will, when adopted, give developers a clear steer on
what is expected of them to reduce the environmental impact of developments.
This includes setting out the need to minimise carbon emissions, flood risks,
pollution and pressure on water sources. This is all aimed at helping to ensure
any development enhances the natural environment, leaving it in a better
condition than before it took place. Planning applications received since the
current South Cambridgeshire and Cambridge Local Plans were adopted last year
need to include sufficient detail to demonstrate how developers intend to meet
the sustainability policy requirements. Local people, businesses and interested
groups are being encouraged to comment on the draft SPD until 5pm on Monday 23
September 2019.
