JULIA NORRIS TRUSTEE REQUIRED

Can you spare a couple of hours a month to be a trustee of a small local charity?
The Julia Norris Trust is responsible for the delightful almshouses in Little Gransden, which are for those with connections to both the Gransdens and district. The Trustees are about to embark on an exciting development project so it is a great time to become involved and feel that you are making a real difference to a much-valued community asset. If you think that you might be interested in joining the Trustees and wish to find out more, please ring Mark Barlow 01767 677361

POWER CUT - PRECAUTIONS FOR VULNERABLE CUSTOMERS

Power cuts are quite rare these days but certainly not unknown in the Gransdens!
UK Power is working to help vulnerable customers should there be a power cut. They have a Priority Service Register for those who may need extra support during a power cut.  Residents will receive
  • A priority number that they can call 24 hours a day if they have a power cut
  • Regular text message or phone updates during a power cut
  • A welcome booklet
  • Extra support from the British Red Cross to visit their home during an emergency (UK Power will check with them first)
UK Power is working hard to raise awareness of their new number to call during a power cut (0800 3163105) and to encourage eligible customers to sign up to the Priority Services Register so we can get them the support they need.
